Hamilton Goes Hollywood In Brooklyn
• Longtime WKTU/New York personality Sean “Hollywood” Hamilton did his share of TV acting appearances back in the day while he was working at KIIS-FM/Los Angeles, and we are pleased to report that he is once again living up to his famous nickname — Hamilton has been cast in Season Two of the Amazon Prime series, Gravesend, which is set in New York’s organized crime scene in the 1980s.
As Hamilton explains, “Season One was produced on a shoestring, but became such a ‘cult mob’ hit that for Season 2 they were granted triple the budget, and with that came some huge mob stars like Chazz Palminteri, William DeMeo, Andrew ‘Dice’ Clay, Armand Assante, Fran Drescher, Martin Kove, William Forsythe, Sofia Milos, Mario Cantone, Gina Gershon, Vincent Pastore, Tony Darrow, Leo Rossi and Chuck Zito.”
And let’s not forget promising newcomer Sean Hamilton, who is introduced this season in the pivotal role of “Marty Verman,” lead attorney for Chazz Palminteri’s character Cesar Tremaldo of the Colezzo crime family. “The thing I love the most about it is the fact that the show takes place in the early ’80s when I was on Z100,” Hamilton tells RAMP. “The music, cars, clubs, NYC politics are so well documented within the show during that era. So many people are identifying with it that grew up during that time period, especially people who grew up in Brooklyn.”
Here’s a photo of Palminteri and Hamilton in action, possibly scouting a location to dump a body. We swear we didn’t see anything. Check out the scene here.
