‘Hey Google: Play Entercom & iHeart News’
• Entercom and iHeartMedia announced that they have begun to incorporate local news audio content into a new Google News’ feature — “Your News Update,” which is described as “a smarter way to listen to the news hosted by the Google Assistant.”
Through this partnership, local content from Entercom’s leading RADIO.COM news stations — 1010 WINS & WCBS 880/New York, KNX/Los Angeles, WBBM-AM/Chicago, KRLD-AM/Dallas, WWJ-AM/Detroit, KYW-AM/Philadelphia, KCBS-AM/San Francisco and KMOX-AM/St. Louis will be featured as part of the “Your News Update” platform.
In the same way, major iHeartRadio News stations, including WOR/New York, KFI/Los Angeles, WBZ/Boston, KTRH/Houston and WGST/Atlanta as well as news stations in Chicago, Washington D.C. and Philadelphia will also be connected to “Your News Update,” with more iHeartMedia stations to come.
“Your News Update” will showcase a mix of short news stories chosen in that moment based on users’ interests, location, history and preferences, as well as the top news stories from publishers from around the world including The Associated Press, FOX News, Billboard, The Hollywood Reporter and others.
