Is There Nothing Tacos Can’t Do?

• To paraphrase that great philosopher, Homer Simpson… San Diego’s largest one-day Taco Festival rolls this Saturday from 11am-10pm at Waterfront Park and will feature over 30 of San Diego’s best taco restaurants and a lineup of local and national concert acts, including Salt-N-Pepa with DJ Spinderella!

San Diego Taco Fest was originally developed by Southport Marketing in partnership with Local Media San Diego, LLC — owners of 91X, XHRM (Magic 92.5) and XHTZ (Z90) — and Westward Entertainment. Yes, that’s internationally renowned taco aficionado R Dub!, PD of Z90 and Magic 92.5 pictured here holding up what is expected to be his breakfast, lunch and dinner on Saturday.

But wait! There’s more! The festivities will also include live Luche Libre wrestling matches, a Chihuahua beauty pageant and races, and interactive experiences. New this year is the Milagro Cantina — a Margarita Bar serving handcrafted margaritas while a DJ provides entertainment under the Marg Tent.

San Diego Taco Fest sold out in 2016 and 2017, collectively entertaining over 19,000 hungry folks who pounded over 60,000 delicious tacos. VIP tickets are already sold out and General Admission tickets are expected to sell out on Saturday. Advance tickets are $30 and day-of tickets are $35, while supplies last, at SDTacoFest.com. Tacos and beverages are an additional cost.
