O’Heron Going Nationwide

This is turning out to be an excellent week for iHeartMedia execs to earn career upgrades — congrats to Dennis O’Heron, a valuable longtime fixture at iHeartMedia Boston’s cluster, who is moving up to the company’s National Programming Group as the newly named Senior Vice President, Live Entertainment & Events. O’Heron most recently served as National Event Brand Manager for National Programming as well as VP of Marketing for iHeartMedia Boston. His history with the Boston group dates back to 1994 when he was named Marketing Director of Rhythmic WJMN (Jam’n 94.5). Five years later he added similar duties for Top 40 sibling WXKS (Kiss 108). In 2000 he was awarded APD stripes for Jam’n and promoted to PD in 2001. His resume also includes a programming stint at WHJY/Providence.

O’Heron was a member of the team that created the initial idea of a multi-artist radio show at Kiss 108, which eventually led to the inception of the Jingle Ball concerts and many other large-scale productions. He has been an instrumental contributor to many of iHeartMedia’s other marquee events for several years, including working very closely with management on the very first iHeartRadio Music Festival in 2011.

O’Heron is already a well-respected leader and his extensive programming, event planning, digital and marketing experience makes him the perfect person for this critical role. He will report to Tom Poleman, President of National Programming Group for iHeartMedia.
