Something Funny Happening At Kiss Seattle

• After a week of stunting, i.e., rolling jockless, parting company with 18-year morning pro Bender Cunningham, airing mysterious sweepers and temporarily rebranding as “KISS IS DEAD,” iHeartMedia Top 40 KBKS (106.1 Kiss FM)/Seattle finally emerged from its cone of silence at 4pm Wednesday. While the station technically remains “Under Construction,” the Kiss FM branding and format remain intact, and the station tweeted that Molly Mesnick, half of the now former Bender & Molly morning show is still with the station in a capacity TBA.

As it turns out, all of the the stunting was an elaborate lead-in to the search for a new morning show, and the station has now issued an intergalactic call for available talent — and it is putting up a cool $10K to help procure said hilarious talent. According to the website, “106.1 Kiss Is Dead serious… about finding Seattle’s Funniest Person for our new morning show and we need your help… So much so that we will pay you $10,000 to help! Does your friend, co-worker, neighbor, family member have what it takes? Are they funny enough? Tell us who it is. If they get the gig, you get $10K!”

Candidates for this high profile position are invited to upload a 60-second video to YouTube, Instagram, Twitter or Facebook demonstrating how you are Seattle’s Funniest Person. You have your marching orders… now get out there and make milk shoot out of our nose!

The incredibly lengthy contest rules are posted at kissfmseattle.iheart.com.
