‘TJ’ Johnson Circles Back To Dayton

TJ previously worked in the market at Connoisseur Rhythmic WDHT (Hot 102.9)/Dayton before returning home to Long Island and joining CMG Top 40 sister WBLI. And now he’s back. “Having TJ come back to Dayton is a great full-circle moment,” said Nancy Wilson, WHKO PD and morning co-host. “He knows this market, he knows radio, and he brings a great energy to the evening. We’re thrilled to have him back in the Miami Valley and excited for our listeners to spend their nights with TJ.”
TJ succeeds Jordan Knight, who had hosted New Country Nights on K99.1 for nearly a decade. Knight, a.k.a.Slater, had been tracking the shift from sister WWKA (K92.3)/Orlando, where he will now focus on his fulltime role as co-host of the Obie, Chloe & Slater morning show.
“Jordan has been such an important part of K99.1 and New Country Nights for nearly ten years,” said Wilson. “He’s given our listeners so many great nights, and we’re incredibly grateful for everything he’s brought to the station. We’re excited for him as he puts his focus on his morning show in Orlando.”
“I’m really excited to be back on the air in Dayton,” said TJ. “I have a lot of great memories from my time here, and getting the chance to reconnect with the market while doing New Country Nights is pretty special. I can’t wait to hang with K99.1 listeners every night.”
