True Twin Cities Tales
• RAMP has confirmed that Tricia “TJ” Jenkins has exited as MD/midday personality at Entercom Country KMNB (BUZ’N @ 102.9)/Minneapolis.
Jenkins (pictured) had been at the station since February 2012, coming from Clear Channel Top 40 KZHT/Salt Lake City. She was upped to MD in October 2016 when Phelan joined the station as APD/afternoon talent. Jenkins’ previous radio stops include KQKQ in her hometown of Omaha; KHOP/Modesto, CA; and KAJA/San Antonio. Entercom will now conduct a search for Jenkins’ replacement.
TJ is now seeking her next radio opportunity and can be easily reached via email at Tricia.Jenkins21@gmail.com.
• Meanwhile, across the street at another “local radio station…” iHeartMedia Country rival KEEY (K102)/Minneapolis suddenly has a major opening for a Promotion Director, as Harry Aslesen announced he’s leaving — to continue his education in Ireland!
According to Twin Cities’ SVP of Programming Gregg Swedberg, “Harry has been amazing, and I hope he catches all the leprechauns he can there. But we are left with a great big hole in our Promotion Director job at K102. We are looking to fill it fast, but interested individuals should reach out to Matt Tell, our Market Promotions Director at matttell@iheartmedia.com.” After a perfectly timed pause, Swedberg added, “In spite of having to work with me, it’s a great opportunity.”
