We Just Missed ‘Heidi & Frank Day’
• Los Angeles City Council Member John S. Lee proclaimed Tuesday, Sept. 10, 2024 as “Heidi & Frank Day” in the City of Los Angeles, in honor of morning duo Heidi Hamilton & Frank Kramer, and their team at Meruelo Media’s 95.5 KLOS/Los Angeles.
The resolution, which recognizes the show’s “exceptional contributions to the community,” was introduced by Councilmember Lee and received unanimous approval from fellow Councilmembers Monica Rodriguez, Hugo Soto-Martinez, and Kevin De Leon, who took a moment to celebrate and congratulate Heidi and Frank for their remarkable impact on the city.
A visibly moved Frank Kramer accepted the award alongside Heidi, and commented, “I stand here with Heidi with gratitude. This is a testament to storytelling, community, and the shared experiences that we all have together.” He continued, “We’ve been on the air together for 24 years. We weren’t born here; we were born in Indiana, a couple of small-town kids, and if you would have told us that we’d be standing here in front of the Los Angeles City Council, getting a day honored, we wouldn’t have believed it. We weren’t born here, but we remain here. We love Los Angeles!”
Heidi Hamilton shared her disbelief and joy, as she remarked, “I still can’t believe this. It feels like my alarm is gonna go off. I’m gonna wake up and I’m gonna go, ‘OK, did I just dream this?’ But it is a dream, and thanks for making our dream come true, thank you so much.”
Otto Padron, President of Meruelo Media, noted, “Heidi and Frank are a daily validation of our company’s unwavering mission of live and local radio.” Pio Ferro, SVP of Audio Brands at Meruelo, added, “Heidi and Frank are among the best morning shows in the country. We’re proud to honor their significant impact on Los Angeles and its communities.” That’s Heidi, Frank and friends celebrating with their major award. You can view the presentation HERE.
