WECK Coming Soon To Your Toaster
• Radio One Buffalo, the owner of Oldies WECK Radio/Buffalo, NY, already enjoyed at 102.9FM, 100.5FM, and its original spot at 1230AM, just added an unprecedented 4th frequency — at 100.1FM, thanks to translator W261EB. The FCC granted this third FM frequency for WECK in early February and it’s now up and running.
“WECK has always been a stand-alone AM radio station, and as we all know, AM radios have had issues with static and interference over the past decade with more electronic devices vying for frequency space,” says Buddy Shula, President & CEO of WECK Radio. He added, “Our third FM signal in metro Buffalo is truly unique. I’m not aware of any AM station in the U.S. that has three FM translator frequencies in the metro, along with the main AM station. It’s our chance to provide Buffalo’s No. 1 Oldies station on FM just about everywhere in the Buffalo DMA. 100.1FM is a maximum power FM translator and will provide superior coverage in communities like Amherst, Clarence, Lancaster, Depew, East Amherst, Akron and more.”
Shula continued, “The ratings of WECK and our total listenership have been soaring over the past few years, and this new FM frequency will give an additional population of around 200,000 the chance to now enjoy WECK in the full-sound of FM, strengthening our music position even more… It’s definitely time to RESET YOUR PRESETS.”
