Will Rich Minor Beat Shazam?
• You are cordially invited to set your DVR to Fox tomorrow night to watch Rich Minor, PD/MD and morning host on Berkshire Broadcasting Hot AC WDAQ (98Q)/Danbury, CT when he appears on Beat Shazam, hosted by Jamie Foxx and vies for a shot at up to $1 million! For Minor, a self-described “game show geek,” this isn’t his first on-camera rodeo, as he tells RAMP, “I was on Wheel of Fortune in 2006 and won $3,000. After taxes, flight, hotel, etc., I came close to breaking even.” Tomorrow night we will find out if he beats that amount.
Minor (center) and his husband, Michael (right), a trend forecaster for a large fashion industry-related agency, were selected for the show after a lengthy audition process and taped the episode back in December at the legendary CBS Television City in Hollywood. “Jamie Foxx, his daughter Corinne, the producers and the entire crew were so freakin’ cool,” Minor relates to RAMP.
He added, “Our CEO here at Berkshire Broadcasting, Irv Goldstein, flew out to L.A. with his son David for the day and were part of the 500-person audience, and for the past seven months, those are the only people who know how well — or how poorly — we did,” he said. “We’ve heard from many 98Q listeners who are excited to see the show and have shared that on social media. Regardless of the outcome of the game, it was an absolutely incredible experience. Beyond words.” Beat Shazam airs Tuesday night at 8pm/7pm CT on Fox.
