‘Women In The Mix’ Today

• The Recording Academy kicks off GRAMMY Week today — International Women’s Day — with Women In The Mix — a virtual event today at 5pm PT that recognizes the contributions of women in music and aims to amplify female voices across the industry. This program champions women who are working to close gender gaps on and offstage and spotlights female producers and engineers in the music industry while encouraging and facilitating mentorship between established women in the industry and aspiring female music industry pros.

Just added to today’s event: Terri Lyne Carrington, current GRAMMY®-nominated artist; Lanre Gaba, GM/SVP of Urban A&R, Atlantic Records; IV Jay, singer/songwriter; Emily Lazar, current three-time GRAMMY-nominated mastering engineer; Joanie Leeds, current GRAMMY-nominated artist; Saweetie, rapper/songwriter; and Elaine Welteroth, journalist and New York Times-best-selling author. The event will also feature performances by Chloe Flower and Joanie Leeds, and special appearances by Dr. Angela Davis and current two-time GRAMMY nominees HAIM. Tina Tchen, President & CEO of TIME’S UP will deliver the keynote address.
