WPLJ Farewell Reunion Video Ready!

• On Tuesday night, May 21, just ten days before WPLJ/New York signed off for the last time, over 400 station alumni past and present, along with friends and family members of this iconic New York station gathered at The Cutting Room in Manhattan to give WPLJ a memorable send-off. Fortunately for everyone involved, Art Vuolo, “Radio’s Best Friend” was in the house and videotaped the whole thing. Now, after emerging from his basement editing room, Art proudly announces that the finished WPLJ Farewell Reunion Video is ready for prime time!

For those who were there, you can relive this bittersweet finale to a radio station that entertained the masses for 48 years — for anyone who was unable to attend, you will feel like you were there.

The DVD features dozens of interviews with those in attendance, the two-minute “mash up” audio montage, classic TV spots, and comments from legendary alums like Allen Shaw, Jim KerrScott Shannon and others. Also included are rare vintage video airchecks of WPLJ personalities that were not shown at the party.

This invaluable slice of radio history has been pressed onto a standard DVD and is available now at vuolovideo.com/videovault/reunions. Not-so-coincidentally, the feature runs 95.5 minutes(!) and is on sale now for the low, low price of just $20 plus $4 shipping and handling. Watch a video preview posted on YouTube. Thank you, Art!
