Remembering Trella Hart

• Her name might not be readily familiar, but for fans of classic ’60s and ’70s PAMS/JAM jingles, the signature voice of Trella Hart certainly is.

In a statement, Jon Wolfert of PAMS/JAM, said, “It is with great sadness that we bid farewell to vocalist Trella Hart, who passed away on the morning of July 4. Trella’s voice and enthusiastic sound electrified Top 40 radio in the 1960s and 1970s. She moved to Dallas in 1966 and was signed to an exclusive contract with PAMS Productions. This resulted in two very successful radio jingle packages — ‘Swiszle’ and ‘Fun Vibrations,’ as well as numerous custom projects and commercials. In a very short time Trella’s unique voice and laugh could be heard on radio stations coast-to-coast and around the world. She went on to sing jingles and commercials for other producers as well, including JAM. She also loved performing jazz standards at various clubs and venues. Trella will be missed not only for her musical talent, but as a warm and fun person who was a delight to listen to, work with, and be with. RIP, Trella, and thank you.”

A brief montage of some of Trella’s early jingle work is posted here. [Special thanks to Ira Lipson & Art Vuolo]
