Silver Celebration For Mike Wheless
We want to offer our best wishes to Mike Wheless, host of the Q Morning Crew on Curtis Media Country WQDR/Raleigh, who is celebrating 25 years in the WQDR wake-up chair. Wheless joined WQDR in 1988, moved to overnights two years later, and was upped to morning drive in August 1992. Wheless and the rest of the Q Morning Crew — Janie Carothers and Marty “The One-Man Party” are enjoyed weekday mornings from 5:30-10am, and have won multiple industry awards, including CMA Personality of the Year and ACM Personality of the Year.

Wheless’ 25th anniversary was celebrated last Friday, starting with the Q Morning Crew’s Hometown Tour in Chapel Hill, home of Wheless’ beloved UNC Tar Heels. Listeners, community leaders, station staffers and previous co-hosts joined the celebration, which continued throughout the day.
