To mark this half-century of rock, WMMS, which launched on September 28, 1968, has assembled an ambitious month-long series of cool anniversary events, culminating with a 50th Anniversary Concert featuring Ozzy Osbourne and Stone Sour on Sunday, September 16 at the Blossom Music Center.

The five-part segment, hosted byBuzzard Morning Zoo co-host Ed “Flash” Ferenc will air every day this week from noon-1:30pm. This Saturday, September 1, WMMS will feature some historic moments from several live rock shows produced by the station throughout the years, and on Sunday at noon, WMMS will broadcast Springsteen at the Agora — the 1978 show, which was critically acclaimed as one of Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band’s most spirited live recordings, will air in its entirety.
