‘I Can See My Parade From Here!’
• The Preston & Steve Show from Beasley Media Group’s WMMR/Philadelphia took full advantage of knowing someone who someone else who has the keys to a sweet high-rise hook-up in downtown Philly from which they could broadcast live while watching the Philadelphia Eagles’ first-ever Super Bowl Victory Parade.
RAMP spoke with WMMR PD Bill Weston, who was eager to dispel some of the popular rumors circulating about Philly fans’ behavior, as he said, “Kevin, can you include a nice photo of a smoldering, overturned car? Cops turning fire hoses on an unruly crowd or perhaps a snarling German Shepherd?” Ahem… Weston added, “What seems to be the national news narrative on Philly sports fans celebrations turns out to be a peaceful, sun-filled celebration — a joy-filled gathering of the tribes of Eagles Nation, delirious with joy in celebrating their football team and the city. WMMR was proud to be in the thick of it, broadcasting live from a 10th story apartment on the parade route.”
