J-Si’s Record Breaking Feet

• Remember that time when you got up in the middle of the night and accidentally stepped on an errant Lego brick with bare feet? You know that is a special kind of pain that pairs well with swearing. Now picture doing that same thing — in broad daylight — on a Lego-strewn path as long as a 17-story building… and you will have some rough idea of the incredible ordeal endured yesterday by J-Si Chavez, co-host of the Kidd Kraddick Morning Show.

As it was explained to us by Russ Francis, VP of Marketing for YEA Networks, “J-Si’s wanted to break ANY World Record for years and was trying to find the right one. When he heard about this a few months ago we started preparing… then ‘Dude Perfect’ came along and extended the record.”

Undaunted by someone who actually refers to himself as “Dude Perfect,” J-Si prepared to set a new record. Yesterday morning, live on the air from the grand opening of Big Beat Dallas at the Toyota Music Factory, J-Si took a deep breath and set off down a giant path packed with some 2 million Legos of various shapes and sizes, all of them pointy. Shortly thereafter, and 168 feet 5 inches later, J-Si beat Dude Perfect’s now lame record by more than 20 feet! Grimace along with us as you watch the excruciating footage of J-Si’s record-breaking walk.

(Much) later, after soaking his shredded feet, RAMP spoke with J-Si about his painful-yet-oddly-satisfying record, and he told us, “I’d be lying if I told you I remembered the walk, because I think I blacked out when my adrenaline hit. I had to watch the video to live it again. Watching my kids next to me, cheering me on made me feel so happy. There’s pain, even hours after, but the fact that I was finally able to do something I have wanted to do since I was a kid makes it worth it. My son looked at me and said, ‘Papa, you’re the best Lego walker in the world… so now I don’t have to clean my Lego pieces anymore?'” A triumphant J-Si is pictured below in this souvenir photo clutching his major award, accompanied by a giant Lego dude.
