Last Sunday, November 20, 46-year-old St. Louis Police Sgt. Tom Lake was shot twice shot in the face. Fortunately, Sgt. Lake survived and was released from the hospital a few days ago. The gunman was killed in a shootout with police later Sunday night. As a way to show respect and support for Sgt. Lake, as well as for all men and women who serve and protect our community, the Spencer’s Neighborhood morning show from WARH (106.5 The Arch)/St. Louis presented the officer’s precinct with a Thanksgiving feast, courtesy of Honeybaked Ham. Pictured, during the precinct visit, (l-r): co-host Brando, a police officer, co-host Ricki, host Spencer Graves, Producer Bryce and another grateful officer.

Knowing that the last thing on Sgt. Lake’s family’s minds would be preparing a huge holiday meal, Spencer’s Neighborhood team members also visited the injured officer and his family in their home to deliver a complete Thanksgiving dinner.

An emotional Graves said, “The experience was humbling. The officer broke down in tears when we dropped the food off for his family. The most touching moment is when the officer told me, ‘I’m not sure how to process how nice everyone has been. It’s nice to know that people still love the men and women in blue.'” Graves added, “This is the least we can do in support of our heroes in blue.”
