Webb Upped To PD of KABC & KSFO

• Cumulus promotes from within and elevates Art Webb to Program Director of News-Talk combo 790 KABC/Los Angeles and 810 KSFO/San Francisco.

Webb, who has served as APD and Executive Producer of both stations since 2017, succeeds Luis Segura, who earlier this month was promoted to Operations Manager for News-Talk sister WMAL-FM/Washington, DC.

Larry Blumhagen, RVP/Market Manager, Cumulus Los Angeles-San Francisco, remarked, “Art has proven to be exceptionally dedicated and creative in his years as APD for KABC. We are eager to watch him bring those qualities to the role of Program Director for KABC and KSFO.”

Webb commented, “I’m excited to step into this role and build on the strong foundation already in place at both stations. Our focus remains on creating engaging, relevant content that truly connects with California listeners while continuing to elevate the incredible work of our talented teams. With such outstanding rosters in Los Angeles and San Francisco, I’m looking forward to sharing in much success together.”

Prior to joining Cumulus Los Angeles, Webb worked in Broadcast Services for Disneyland Resort for over a decade. He was also Programming Manager for Podcast One, and Program Director and Production Manager/On-Air Talent for Burbank’s New Normal Music and The Tom Leykis Show.

• And in a related story… Cumulus has inked a multi-year renewal deal for The John Phillips Show. Hosted by John Phillips and Randy Wang, the show can be heard on 790 KABC-AM/Los Angeles and 810 KSFO-AM/San Francisco weekdays from Noon-3pm.

An Orange County native, Phillips (left) began his radio career as the youngest major-market radio talk show host in the country. He’s also a columnist for the Orange County Register and the Los Angeles Daily News and makes regular appearances on cable news. Randy Wang (right) is a two-time Golden Mic Award-winning broadcaster who also anchors the KABC News Blitz weekdays from 5-6pm on 790 KABC.

Larry Blumhagen, RVP/Market Manager, Cumulus San Francisco/Los Angeles, said, “We are thrilled to extend The John Phillips Show and will continue to have John Phillips and Randy Wang speak about accountability in California to their loyal audience.”

Phillips commented, “We are thrilled to be able to spend weekday afternoons with L.A., the Bay Area and everyone else the Raiders skipped town on, for the next several years!” Wang added, “We are so happy to continue bringing our unique brand of covering California to SoCal, The Bay Area and beyond!”
