Al Mayers Retiring From Bloomberg

• The RAMP crew sends our best wishes to Al Mayers, the longtime Global Head of TV and Radio for Bloomberg Media, who is retiring from the company. The official announcement was made Friday morning by Bloomberg Media CEO M. Scott Havens and Bloomberg Editor-In-Chief John Micklethwait.

Mayers had been with Bloomberg for 21 years, first joining the company in 2001 as Station Manager for Bloomberg Radio. He was later promoted to GM of Bloomberg Radio, overseeing the division’s programming, syndication and business operations. In 2015 Michael Bloomberg named Mayers Chief of Bloomberg’s global TV division, while also retaining his oversight of the radio side.

Included in Mayers’ responsibilities as global head of TV and radio was overseeing Bloomberg’s TV news and radio news content. AdWeek has more details about Mayers’ retirement and the company’s plans going forward.
