APD Stripes For Christine Malovetz
• Entercom Alternative WNYL (ALT 92.3)/New York has bestowed Assistant Program Director stripes upon midday personality Christine Malovetz, effective immediately. Malovetz will continue to keep you entertained in the office weekdays from 10am to 2pm ET.
In making the announcement, Mike Kaplan, SVP of Programming, Entercom New York, said, “Christine has been a huge contributor to the team. She’s been my true partner in crime and I’m thrilled for her on this much-deserved promotion. Christine has her finger on the pulse of Alternative music in New York and we look forward to the station’s continued growth under the leadership of this team.”
Malovetz joined ALT 92.3 as midday personality in May 2018, following a stint as APD/MD/midday personality at Emmis Top 40 KNOU (NOW 96.3)/St. Louis. Her 20-year radio career also includes stops at WKQX (Q101)/Chicago, the former WPLY (Y100)/Philadelphia, WBTZ (99.9 The Buzz)/Burlington, VT and Brown University’s WBRU/Providence. “It’s an honor to accept this position at New York’s NEW Alternative,” said Malovetz. “I’m excited to continue building a strong Alternative brand alongside Mike Kaplan and our talented ALT team.”
In 2014, Malovetz was recognized by the National Alliance on Mental Health as Chicago’s “Volunteer of the Year,” and she continues to work towards mental health awareness and suicide prevention through Entercom’s “I’m Listening” initiative.
