Applications Open For MIW Mentorship
• Mentoring and Inspiring Women in Radio, Inc. (MIW), the 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to the advancement of female leadership in radio broadcasting, has officially opened the application window for the 2024 MIW Elevating Women in Programming Mentorship. Now celebrating its sixth year, this mentorship opportunity is a year-long experience that exposes the mentee to the best programming minds in our business through personalized conversations, connections and opportunities aimed at advancing their career within the radio industry. The program also affords the mentee the chance to attend April’s NAB Show in Las Vegas.
This special opportunity is available to one female brand manager, content/program director, assistant program director, and/or music director from any U.S.-based music format.
MIW Board President Ruth Presslaff said, “Our yearly Gender Analysis study consistently reveals a stark underrepresentation of female leadership in the field of programming. We have helped women achieve their programming career goals through this mentorship and are actively seeking the next deserving candidate to support on their journey.”
Applications are now open and are being accepted HERE through Feb. 16.
Past mentees include: Traci LaTrelle, APD/MD, WHUR/Washington, DC; Leslie Scott, VP of Digital Audio Content, Audacy; Grisel Barajas, a rising programming star who passed unexpectedly in 2020; Amanda “ICE” Habrowski, APD/middays, KYMT (93.1 The Mountain)/Las Vegas; and last year’s mentee, Meg Dowdy, Regional Content Director, Townsquare Media.
