Are You Different Enough For The Corner?

• Saga Triple A WCNR (106.1 The Corner)/Charlottesville, VA “Needs A DJ Who’s A Real Person And Loves Music.” There. That pretty much sums up the opening. No, seriously.

As the post reads, “We’re looking for either a veteran radio DJ who hasn’t forgotten how to be a real person on the air, or else an up-and-comer who hasn’t yet been made to unlearn that. 106.1 The Corner is all about being in love with music and being real. And you’ll be replacing a person who was well liked on the air and in the community.”

In brief, here’s what The Corner is looking for: An authentic radio presence, a love for the Triple A format, comfort with social media, above-average audio editing skills, and a willingness to listen and adopt new ideas, while also knowing that your ideas will be heard and valued.

The position requires at least three years of on-air experience, preferably Triple A. You’ll also be tracking middays on Classic Rock sister WWWV (97.5 3WV), so that knowledge is a plus.

This is a full-time position with a company that offers top-shelf benefits (insurance, vacation, 401K options). Send your resume, cover letter, and on-air demo to OM Paul “Uncle Pauly” McDaniel at pmcdaniel@charlottesvilleradiogroup.com, and please put “I Am The Corner” in the subject line. EOE.
