Audacy KC Pros In Motion

• Lots of moving parts inside the Audacy broadcast complex in Kansas City this week — let’s start at Hot AC KZPT (99.7 The Point), where OM JR Ammons explains the personnel moves that go into effect Monday, April 25 — in a staff memo, Ammons noted, “Beginning Monday, Matt Gapske (left) is moving from afternoons to mornings to join Ponch & Nikki!  For about a million reasons, Matt is the perfect person for this position. Not only is he super creative, organized, but he has the production expertise we need and also brings a different perspective to what Ponch & Nikki are doing every day. Matt will also handle middays on The Point.”

Gapske’s move to mornings has a domino effect on the rest of the day, as Ammons explains: “Afternoons will now be [tracked] by Chase Daniels (right), currently the Operations Manager of the Audacy cluster in Madison, WI. And finally, Kyle Kurtz, who had been in middays, is moving to nights on The Point.”

• Across the hall on Alternative KRBZ (ALT 96.5), it’s nice to hear Jordin Silver‘s voice again, this time as midday personality. You may recall that Silver (left) previously did mornings for two years on KRBZ (then 96.5 The Buzz) until Sept. 2020, when she was one of many employees cut loose nationwide during a massive round of pandemic-related corporate downsizing. She’s now tracking the ALT 96.5 midday show from Los Angeles. The shift had been tracked by Megan Holiday from sister KROQ/Los Angeles.

Silver’s previous stops include a four-year run at sister KNDD (107.7 The End)/Seattle, as well as a stint at iHeartMedia’s KYSR (ALT 98.7)/Los Angeles and some quality time spent in Atlanta at WRDA (ALT 105.7), WWPW (Power 96.1) and the former WKLS (Project 96.1).
