Bakersfield Employment Forecast: Sunny

• It was Labor Day weekend when iHeartMedia made the decision to drop the Spanish language “La Preciosa” format on KBPF/Bakersfield and flip to Mainstream AC as Sunny 105.3 FM.

Now that the station has had sufficient time to “warm up,” as it were, the place needs a permanent PD. Our friend Steve Weed, the Fresno-based Area SVP of Programming has issued an APB for an up-and-coming programmer/air talent to come fill this promising position. This could be a good opportunity for a newer PD who is looking to move up to their next tier of programming leadership in a larger market, or an accomplished APD/MD looking for their first shot in the big chair.
