Beasley Launches ‘The Bounce,’ Expands ESPN

• The programming crew at Beasley’s Ft. Myers, FL have been very busy over the past few days, 1) launching a new station, and 2) expanding the footprint of another.

Let us review: the company debuted 96.5/101.5 The Bounce, “Throwback Hip Hop and R&B,” on WXKB-HD2 and three translators: 101.5 (W268AH), 96.5 (W243BM) and 105.1 (W286AK). Similar in format to its sister station, WMGC (105.1 The Bounce)/Detroit, the new 96.5.101.5 The Bounce officially launched on Friday, July 9, and will roll commercial-free for the first three weeks.

Operations Manager Adam Star remarked, “It was very clear that Southwest Florida has been waiting for a format like this that they can hear all their favorite Throwback Hip Hop and R&B, 24-7.” AJ Lurie, VP/Market Manager of Beasley Media Group SWFL, commented, “This station brings the best of Throwback hip hop to our community. This type of nostalgia is something we all can appreciate throughout our day!”

• And there’s more: across the hall, ESPN Southwest Florida has expanded its broadcast footprint to four frequencies — in addition to WBCN-770 AM and 96.1 (WRXK-HD2), ESPN SWFL can now be enjoyed on 104.3 (W282BY) and 98.1 (W251AL). Thanks for listening!
