• Boise State Public Radio (BSPR), Idaho’s NPR station has an immediate opening for an experienced broadcaster to serve as the local host of NPR’s signature program Morning Edition and creator of the BSPR weekday podcast The Connector. George Prentice recently retired from mornings at Boise State Public Radio News after seven years, and the company is looking for a successor who can live and work in Boise.

Daily responsibilities include assisting in daily reporting, news planning and editing, while staying atop daily local and national news through multiple sources. You will also select and rewrite stories for air, edit scripts for accuracy, timeliness and proper usage, arrange newscasts, billboards and other on-air content, including reporting and producing two-ways for show, and presents content live on-air in an authoritative and conversational manner that connects with local listeners.

Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s or Advanced Degree and at least five years of professional experience or equivalent relevant experience. Preferred Qualifications: More than three years of experience in hosting, reporting or producing the news, fluency in digital audio production, and a self-starter with technical know-how to troubleshoot during breaking-news or breaking-tech situations.
