Bentley Named MD At Boston’s 92.5 The River

• Northeast Broadcasting Triple A WXRV (92.5 The River)/Boston has promoted Graeme Bentley to Music Director. The move marks the culmination of a radio journey Bentley started at UMass Lowell’s 91.5 WUML, which then translated into an internship at The River in 2018. Over the last three years, Bentley has worked his way up to Street Team Captain to Promotions and Social Media Coordinator, to Assistant Production Director and weekend air talent. He’s been doing the 7-midnight shift since March 2020.

In making the announcement of Bentley’s programming upgrade, WXRV GM Donald St. Sauveur said, “Graeme represents the best of the past, present and future of radio broadcasters. He was a passionate River listener growing up, and his ‘can-do’ attitude and incredible work ethic has taken him on an epic three-year journey at The River. All of his duties and responsibilities helped WXRV grow immensely. It feels great to be able to reward Graeme with this promotion, so that his passion and love of music discovery can grow and will now be his day-to-day focus and contribution to the radio station.”

Legendary Triple A programmer/consultant Dennis Constantine, who has been working with Bentley during his transition into the new role, commented, “Graeme blows me away with his knowledge of music. I love seeing young people who believe in radio and its future. He’s going to be a great music director.”

And as for Bentley, he seems more than a little excited, as he remarked, “I’m almost at a loss for words. It means so much to be able to contribute to the station I’ve been listening to for so many years. It’s an honor, and I’m just taking it one song at a time…” In his new capacity as MD, Bentley will be taking music calls Tuesdays from 1-3pm ET at 978-374-4733, and can be reached by email at GBentley@wxrv.com.
