Binky Awarded Middays At WTVR & 2WD
• RAMP has confirmed that Binky has been named as the new midday personality on Audacy AC duo WTVR (Mix 98.1)/Richmond and WWDE (2WD)/Norfolk. She will retain her existing afternoon drive duties at Top 40 sisters WRVQ (Q94)/Richmond and WNVZ (Z104)/Norfolk.
In making the official announcement, Don London, VP of Operations & Programming said, “Binky joined us three years ago and it’s been great watching and hearing her star rise at Audacy Virginia. Her content is terrific as is her delivery. Her energy and attitude are contagious. Binky is great in front of our audiences and clients.”
Binky arrived in Virginia in Feb. 2022, from her native Grand Forks, ND, where she rose from intern to afternoons on iHeartMedia Top 40 KKXL (XL93). She also worked at sister KSNR (100.3 Cat Country)/Grand Forks, did middays on KYYY (Y93)/Bismarck, ND and co-hosted mornings on WRNW (97.3 Now)/Milwaukee.
London added, “[Binky] will now bring her Top 40, Hot AC, Country, and Rhythm radio format experience and major market sound to Mix and 2WD. Binky can speak to AC’s key demographic cells (Women 45-54 & 35-44) perfectly on Mix and 2WD as she’s right in the middle of the latter key demographic cell.”
On WTVR and WWDE, Binky succeeds the legendary Kat Simons, who tragically passed away in late June. In an Instagram post, Binky said, “There will never be another Kat Simons, but I’m truly honored that I was even considered for this position, and I know I’ll do her proud.”
