Blair Garner: Amarillo By Afternoon

• Connoisseur Media welcomes nationally recognized radio personality Blair Garner to do afternoon drive at Country 97.9 KGNC/Amarillo, TX.

The move to Amarillo is a homecoming for Garner, who grew up in nearby Canyon, TX, where his broadcasting career began at 17 years old.

Garner has hosted nationally syndicated Country radio programs for nearly three decades; he created and hosted After MidNite from 1993 to 2013, hosted America’s Morning Show for Cumulus, and the Westwood One-syndicated Blair Garner Show until August 2020. A 2013 inductee into the Radio Hall of Fame and a 2016 inductee into the Country Radio Hall of Fame, and the winner of multiple broadcast awards, Garner now brings his impressive resume to Amarillo’s 97.9 KGNC.

“We’re thrilled to have a personality of Blair’s caliber joining our staff at KGNC,” said Operations Manager Jeff Scott. “He grew up in the area, he’s a true pro, and a perfect fit for us.”

As Connoisseur notes: “Bringing a Hall of Fame broadcaster with deep local roots to KGNC strengthens the Country 97.9 brand and serves as a reminder of the value of local radio.”
