Bob Barnett Comes Home To Buffalo

• Townsquare Media Buffalo has acquired the considerable talents of Upstate New York radio veteran Bob Barnett as the newly named Director of Content and Brand Manager of Country WYRK and Soft AC WMSX (96.1 The Breeze).

“We are thrilled to have Bob Barnett join our team,” said Mark Plimpton,  Market President & Chief Revenue Officer for Townsquare Buffalo. “He has a track record of success throughout his career that is beyond impressive. Bob is a winner and will be a key component to our success as we strive to be the #1 media Company in Buffalo.”

Indeed, Barnett arrives back in his hometown fully equipped with more than 35 years of programming and management experience, most notably 21 years (over two tours of duty) as Operations Manager for Entercom/Audacy in Rochester, NY, the last eight years as VP of Programming for the group. The new gig also marks a return to some familiar hallways for Barnett, who kicked off his career as OM of Country WBEE in 1987. Barnett’s other programming stops include WKIS/Miami, Director of Operations of WSIX/Nashville, and Regional Corporate Brand Manager for Clear Channel.

“I’m beyond excited to be heading home to Buffalo, where I was born and raised, to work for Townsquare Media’s successful group of stations,” said Barnett, adding, “I’m grateful for the opportunity to share my experience and knowledge with the amazing Buffalo team that’s already focused on being the best!”

• Barnett succeeds Chris Crowley, who in October joined iHeartMedia as PD of Alternative WEND (106.5 The End) & Classic Rock WRFX (99.7 The Fox)/Charlotte and Classic Rock WRDU (100.7 WRDU) & Alternative WDCG-HD2 (ALT 95.3)/Raleigh.
