Brian Thomas Leaves Cumulus
• In a surprising turn of events, Brian Thomas has exited as PD of Cumulus Country WKHX (Kicks 101.5)/Atlanta after a year in the chair and over five years with the company. No replacement has been made, and more on that in a minute. It was March 2018 when Thomas transferred to Atlanta from Cumulus Chicago, where he served in the multiple roles of Corporate PD/Country, VP of Classic Hits and PD of Classic Hits WLS-FM/Chicago.
Before landing in Chicago Thomas programmed Cumulus Country WNSH (NASH FM 94.7)/New York City. Prior to joining Cumulus in April 2014, Thomas served as National VP of Classic Hits programming for CBS Radio. He was also VP of Programming for CBS Radio Tampa and PD of Country WQYK and Classic Hits WRBQ (Q105)/Tampa, among other stops.
We understand the position will be posted soon on the Cumulus Careers portal, and the search will be coordinated by Cumulus Atlanta OM Louie Diaz and VP of Country Formats Charlie Cook. For the immediate future, day-to-day Kicks programming will be handled by WKHX APD Scott Gaines. Thomas can be reached at 925-787-6129 or btradiowaves@gmail.com.
