Brooks O’Brian Headed Home To Minnesota

• Stay tuned for the formal announcement, but RAMP has confirmed that longtime San Diego radio pro Brooks O’Brian is packing for a move back to her home state of Minnesota as the newly named PD of Townsquare Media’s WWJO (98.1, Minnesota’s New Country)/St. Cloud, starting June 1.

O’Brian has been a fixture in the San Diego market for nearly 16 years and has served as APD/MD of Audacy Country KSON since her 2007 arrival. During that time, she also programmed KXSN (Sunny 98.1) for seven years and KYXY for two years while also on air. O’Brian earlier spent a decade with KWNR/Las Vegas as PD/Morning host and five years in Reno, mostly at KBUL (K-Bull 98.1) in evenings & middays. Her first radio job was Programming Asst. at former Country outlet WYNY/New York City.

Commenting on her forthcoming adventure, O’Brian said, “I grew up in Minneapolis, an hour south of St. Cloud, and I can’t wait to get back!”
