Bruce Warren’s Next Phase
• After nearly four decades of shaping the sound and influence of legendary Triple A WXPN/Philadelphia, Bruce Warren, one of the most influential figures in the non-comm Triple A radio space, will begin a phased retirement starting in January 2025 and step down as Program Director. However, Warren will remain an integral part of WXPN during this period, continuing to host his Saturday radio show, serving as Executive Producer of World Cafe, and managing WXPN’s continued evolution in the digital and social media space.
General Manager Roger LeMay commented, “Bruce’s visionary leadership has been instrumental in championing emerging artists and creating innovative programming that resonates with audiences nationwide.”
Beginning in January, WXPN APD Jim McGuinn — also a highly respected programming pro — will take on the role of Acting Program Director. McGuinn’s decades of radio management experience includes stints as Program Director of the former WPLY (Y100)/Philadelphia and Minnesota Public Radio’s The Current.
LeMay added, “Both Bruce and Jim look forward to seeing you at the 2025 NON-COMMvention, May 6-9 at WXPN and World Cafe Live.” Read more about Bruce Warren’s extraordinary journey and future plans in a story posted at xpn.org. [Bruce Warren photo by Paige Walter for WXPN]
