Buchmann Downsized From KGB/San Diego

• NOTE BOB’s UPDATED EMAIL ADDRESS: In a completely left-field development, RAMP has learned that veteran programmer and personality Bob Buchmann has exited as OM and afternoon co-host at iHeartMedia Classic Rock KGB/San Diego.

Buchmann broke the news himself in a Facebook post that read, “I’d prefer you hear this from me first, as I’m a bit in shock. My position has been eliminated at iHeartMedia San Diego as of today. I work for wonderful people who told me I did nothing wrong and everything right.”

He continued, “Now in my 7th year, I was made KGB-FM Operations Director last August. In the afternoon drive Bob and Coe Show, the February Nielsens rank us No. 2 in the market. Come to think of it, I’m not a bit in shock, I’m a lot in shock! Thank you for being there for me day in and day out.”

Prior to his arrival in sunny San Diego in 2012, Buchmann spent nearly three years programming KLOS/Los Angeles, preceded by nearly a decade at the helm of Clear Channel Classic Rock WAXQ (Q104.3)/New York. Earlier in his career Buchmann notably served as VP of Programming at Long Island’s venerable Classic Rock station WBAB. Knowing Bob as we do, we fully expect him to be back in action soon. In the meantime, he can be reached at  Bobbuchmann@gmail.com.
