Buster’s Back In The 215
• iHeartMedia announced that Brandon “Buster” Satterfield is returning to Philadelphia, this time as the new Program Director of heritage Top 40 WIOQ (Q102), effective June 17. Satterfield earns the transfer — and sweet upgrade — from his current post as APD of Top 40 sister WFLZ/Tampa. Before his arrival in Tampa a year ago, Satterfield programmed Radio One Top 40 WNOW (RadioNOW 100.9)/Indianapolis, preceded by a short stint as East Coast Promotions Manager for Atlantic Records.
As we hinted, this isn’t Buster’s first Philly radio rodeo — he previously spent three years with Beasley’s former WRDW (Wired 96.5)/Philadelphia, rising to PD/afternoon talent. His resume also includes a stint as Asst. MD/late-night jock at CBS Radio’s former WXRK (92.3 Now)/New York, and he began his radio career doing nights at iHeartMedia Top 40 WKQI (Channel 95-5)/Detroit.
Satterfield will report to Brian Check, SVP of Programming for iHeartMedia Philadelphia, who commented, “Brandon brings a unique combination of Top 40 radio experience on and off the air, as well as knowledge of the market and passion for everything Philly. His dedication to the brand and keen eye for programming and the latest music make him the perfect fit.” Satterfield remarked, “I’m thrilled to come back to the 215! Q102 has a history of market-leading programming and I’m passionate about the Top 40 format and honored to join the iHeartMedia Philadelphia team. Thank you, iHeartMedia, for handing me the keys to this sweet ride!”
Satterfield will succeed Jared Fallon, who is packing for his own cross-country move to Seattle as the new PD of Top 40 KBKS (106.1 Kiss FM), effective June 1.
