Can You Fill Rob Roberts’ Large Shoes?

• A very rare programming opportunity has opened at Cox Media Group (CMG) San Antonio following news of the impending retirement of longtime leader, Rob Roberts (left), who is leaving at the end of March after nearly seven years and headed back to Atlanta with his wife, Melinda, to further spoil their grandkids.

The five-station group is now seeking a new Director of Operations, Branding & Programming. This high-impact leadership role includes direct music oversight and on-air talent management for Classic Hits KONO 101.1 and Hot AC KSMG (HITS 105.3), programming oversight for Business News-Talk KONO-AM 860, and supervision of the Program Directors for Mainstream Rock 99.5 KISS, Classic Rock KTKX (106.7 The Eagle), Country KCYY (Y100), and Classic Country KKYX.

The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of the 25-54 audience, strong brand-building instincts, and the ability to evolve content strategies to match changing consumer habits across broadcast and digital platforms. You will collaborate across departments on all aspects of station operations, including on-air content, promotions, events, contesting and digital execution. Proven strengths in talent coaching, event execution, imaging and brand positioning are essential.
