Carter Comes Home To WNOE
• iHeartMedia has named Casey Carter as the new Program Director and afternoon drive talent for heritage Country 101.1 WNOE/New Orleans. She succeeds Ashley Wilson, who in July was named Director of Country Programming for the company’s Kentucky-Indiana region.
The move marks a happy return to WNOE for Ms. Carter, who earlier in her career worked there as APD. She has programmed iHeartMedia Country WTQR (New Country Q104.1)/Greensboro since April 2017. Before that she was APD/midday personality at sister WKKT (96.9 The Kat)/Charlotte and PD of iHeartMedia Country cousins WSTH (South 106.1)/Columbus, GA and WOBB/Albany, GA. Her previous stops also include WHOK/Columbus, OH, WNVZ (Z104)/Norfolk, WQIK/Jacksonville and WZZK/Birmingham, AL. Carter began her radio career at 1490 WMRN/Marion, OH.
Upon arrival she will report to Angela Watson Charles, SVP of Programming for iHeartMedia New Orleans, who commented, “I’m thrilled for Casey’s return to New Orleans and WNOE. We’re very excited to have the combination of Casey’s format expertise and personal passion for the city — welcome back!” No less excited about Carter’s return is Tori Kahl, Market President of iHeartMedia New Orleans, who said, “We are excited to welcome Casey back to the Big Easy. Her history of success with the iHeartCountry brand and her ability to connect with listeners is the perfect combination to take the reins of WNOE’s heritage brand.”
Carter said, “WNOE played such an important and integral role early in my career and I can’t believe I get to return as the program director. I love the station and I love the city of New Orleans. I’m thrilled to join the amazing team at WNOE, connect with the listeners in the community and hit the ground running — what a dream come true.”
