RAMP has confirmed that veteran programmer Cat Thomas has exited his position as VP of Contemporary with Cumulus Media. Speculation spread rapidly on Monday when the company announced Louie Diaz had been upped to VP of Contemporary, overseeing programming on the company’s Mainstream and Rhythmic Top 40 stations. Diaz remains OM of Cumulus Atlanta and PD of Top 40 WWWQ (Q100).

Thomas officially joined Cumulus Media as VP of CHR and Rhythm in February 2016, coming off of a successful 28-year career with CBS Radio Las Vegas. Thomas notably programmed KLUC/Las Vegas for 20 years — he was originally hired to do nights there in 1988, and was named MD shortly thereafter. He was upped to PD of KLUC in 1996. In late April of 2015 Thomas was promoted to VP of Programming for the six-station cluster.

Bonus Fun Facts: While attending Ohio State University in Columbus, OH, Thomas interned on the Norman In The Morning show on WCOL-AM and also did traffic reports on WNCI. His first professional radio gig was Promotion & Research Director at the former WHLY (Y106)/Orlando — now WXXL (XL106.7). Thomas can now be reached at 702-715-8085 and Cat@CatThomas.com.
