Cattles Drive To Sacramento

• Nick Cattles, the longtime afternoon host on Max Media Sports-Talk WVSP (ESPN Radio 94.1)/Norfolk, VA is packing for a cross-country move to Sacramento as the newly named PD and afternoon drive talent on Bonneville Sports-Talk KHTK (Sports 1140), with a start date of Dec. 13.

“The Sports Programming team at Bonneville International has had our eye on Nick for a while and we couldn’t be more excited that he will be joining our team in Sacramento to lead KHTK,” said Chad Rufer, Group Director of Programming for Bonneville Sacramento.

Steve Cottingim, SVP/Market Manager of Bonneville Sacramento, noted, “Now that we have extended our relationship with the Sacramento Kings we couldn’t be more excited to add someone to the KHTK team who has the passion and experience that Nick does.”

Cattles commented, “I couldn’t be happier or more excited to join a brand with such rich tradition. I look forward to this challenge and doing whatever I can to make sure KHTK remains the king of sports talk in Sacramento.”

Current KHTK PD/afternoon host Jason Ross will remain with the station and continue to serve as the radio voice of Sacramento State Football and the NBA’s Sacramento Kings.

• Meanwhile, back in Norfolk… “The news of Nick pursuing an opportunity in a larger market was inevitable given his talent for sports broadcasting,” said Keith Barton, President & Market Manager, Max Media Hampton Roads. “He has been an integral part of the ESPN 94.1 brand here in Hampton Roads. I truly wish him the best at his next station.”

Cattles’ last day on WVSP will be Wednesday, Nov. 24. After that, Tim Donnelly, host of The Tim Donnelly Show airing noon-2pm on ESPN Radio 94.1 and the longtime producer of The Nick Cattles Show will temporarily cover the 4-7pm shift.
