CBS, Mike Thomas Renew Vows

CBS Radio has re-upped veteran programmer Mike Thomas to a multi-year contract extension that retains him in his multi-platform role as Vice President of Sports Programming for CBS Radio and Vice President of Programming for CBS Radio Boston.

While waiting for the ink to dry, Chris Oliviero, Executive Vice President of Programming, CBS Radio commented, “Mike is an accomplished programming executive whose outstanding talent has led our company to success across both music and spoken word formats, which is a rare feat in our industry. As VP of Sports Programming for CBS Radio, Thomas serves as an advisor to the company’s 18 dedicated Sports stations across the U.S. In Boston, Thomas has strategic oversight of the cluster’s five stations — WBZ-AM (NewsRadio 1030), Hot AC WBMX (Mix 104.1), Top 40 WODS (103.3 AMP Radio), Classic Rock WZLX and WBZ-FM (98.5 The Sports Hub), the last two he has programmed since 2009. Over a 20-year radio career, Thomas previously programmed KGB/San Diego, WFBQ/Indianapolis, WTUE & WXEG/Dayton, OH and WYMG/Springfield, IL. Thomas remarked, “I’m extremely fortunate to work with the best in the business on a day-to-day basis.
