CCB Media Pros On The Loose

• It was recently announced that Gary Hanna‘s Salt Air Broadcasting is expanding its broadcast footprint on Cape Cod with the pending acquisition of CCB Media‘s three Cape Cod properties — Hot AC WQRC (99.9 The Q)/Barnstable, Soft AC WOCN (Ocean 104.7)/Orleans, and WKPE (Cape Country 104)/South Yarmouth, along with the CapeCod.com portal. Salt Air is planning to take control of the stations on or around Nov. 30, pending FCC approval.

Over the weekend, the other shoe dropped — RAMP has learned that all current full-time morning show personalities will not be offered positions with Salt Air Broadcasting, and their employment will end on Nov. 30. Those affected include:

Jon Reilly (Operations Manager / Director of Programming for WQRC, WKPE & WOCN and morning host on Cape Country 104 — reillyradio@gmail.com • Kristina Carlyle (Morning host on 99.9 The Q and afternoon host on Cape Country 104) — krstna28@gmail.com • John Willis (Morning host on Ocean 104.7 and midday host on Cape Country 104) — Itsjohnwillis@gmail.com.

Here are several more prominent staffers whose employment will also end on Nov. 30: General Manager Brian Barth, James Bone (Director of Digital); and Pete Schmeck (Social Media and digital team member).

Part-time departures include Cheryl Parks, midday host on Ocean 104.7, and Megan Ward, weekend air talent on Ocean 104.7.

On a slightly brighter note, Salt Air reportedly plans to retain CCB’s existing sales and back-office staff, so there’s that.
