Chris Clare Returns To Binnie Media/Portland
• Well, that didn’t take long… Chris Clare, who this week announced his imminent departure from the PD post at Cumulus Country WNNF (Cat Country 94.1)/Cincinnati, is returning to Portland, ME, hired by Binnie Media in the dual role of Director of Country Programming for Binnie’s “Wolf”-branded properties and Program Director of WTHT (99.9 The Wolf)/Portland. Yes, that’s familiar turf for Clare, who previously programmed The Wolf until his departure for Cincinnati in Sept. 2017.
Clare’s former radio stops include an eight-year run with ADX Communications’ Country WYCT (Cat Country 98.7)/Pensacola, FL as co-PD/MD and afternoon personality. Earlier in his career Clare was APD/MD of KKND/New Orleans and he was on-air at KXPK & KALC/Denver and WGRL/Indianapolis.
“Chris is the perfect choice for this role and our team,” said Heath Cole, VP of Programming, Binnie Media. “Not only does he have a proven track record of success, but he has a fresh perspective, and enthusiasm, that we know will take The Wolf to the next level.” Binnie Media President Massimo Rosati noted, “Chris brings the experience, expertise, and excitement to our team that is infectious. We can’t wait for him to be back with us.”
Clare remarked, “I want to thank Massimo Rosati and Heath Cole for the opportunity to return to Binnie Media and Portland. I look forward to working with them and a great team at continuing to strengthen The Wolf brand in New England. I also want to thank John Dimick and Charlie Cook, also Jon Laing, and Keith Mitchell in Cincinnati for four great years. Thankfully, I still have some of my winter clothes.” Clare can now be reached at CClare@binniemedia.com.
• Clare’s hire marks the second significant programming acquisition by Binnie Media this week — on Monday the company announced New England radio pro Michael Czarnecki was joining the company as Director of Brand Operations.
