Chris Malone: Master Of Music

MusicMaster Scheduling has expanded its Support Department with the addition of veteran programmer/air personality Chris Malone as a duly authorized MusicMaster Scheduling Consultant. In making the announcement, MusicMaster CEO Laurie Knapp said, “Chris Malone is a highly creative and accomplished Program Director who has led growth in major radio markets. He stood out to us not only for this expertise, but also his passion for using those talents to guide others to success. This made him a perfect fit for our growing Support team.”

Malone was most recently PD/MD/afternoon talent on former Entercom Urban AC WKAF (The New 97.7 R&B)/Brockton-Boston. Before that he worked for Cumulus Urban AC WRBO and Classic Hip Hop WKIM (98.9 The Vibe)/Memphis.

Malone got his radio start at the age of 18, and in 2003 was named APD/MD and afternoon personality for Urban AC/Smooth Jazz WQOX-FM/Memphis. In the summer of 2007, Malone joined Entercom Memphis to do weekends at former Rhythmic AC WSNA (Snap! 94.1), working his way up to APD. Five years later he was named as start-up PD/afternoon personality for Curtis Media Group Top 40 WBZJ — now WWPL — (Pulse FM)/Raleigh. In 2014, Malone returned to Entercom, moving to Greensboro as APD/afternoons on Urban AC WQMG and APD/MD of Urban Gospel WEAL-AM.

Malone, who is relocating to MusicMaster’s Dallas HQ, commented, “I’m thrilled to join a team of brilliant consultants, to provide support to many clients across the United States and beyond. This new venture allows me the opportunity to do all the things I love to do in the radio industry: work close with programmers, brainstorm solutions, and develop products that make day to day broadcast operations easier.”
