CMG Cuts Like A Knife

• The budget-related personnel cuts inside Cox Media Group continue… Yesterday we reported the departure of three longtime employees of WHQT (Hot 105)/Miami — market legend/midday talent “James T” Thomas, Missey Bailey, host of the Sunday Gospel show, and News Director Jill Tracey.

Today, that list sadly grows longer with the addition of more prominent names, starting with the surprising departure of Al Levine (left),  who had been “On The Scene” for the better part of three decades at Top 40 106.1 WBLI/Long Island, and who was most recently APD/midday personality. We understand weekend talent Cat is currently covering middays.

• In San Antonio, market veteran Robin Flores is out as morning host on Classic Hits KONO-FM after 13 years. Before that he did two tours of duty across the street at KTFM, with stops in Austin, Dallas and Houston sandwiched in between.

• And at the mighty WAPE/Jacksonville, we understand that Ian Hollinger has exited his dual role as Producer of the Dex & Barbie T morning show and night jock.

As always, if you or a colleague has been adversely affected by these cuts and would like your information shared with the industry, please email Kevin@RAMP247.com.
