CMG Ups Elroy Smith To Dir./Urban Content

• Cox Media Group (CMG) has elevated Elroy Smith to Director of Urban Content, effective immediately. Smith will now partner with local programming leaders to develop content, programming, and brand strategies for the company’s R&B and Urban stations in Atlanta, Miami, Orlando, and Jacksonville.

Smith currently serves as PD of WCFB (Star 94.5)/Orlando and Hot 99.5 (WOKV-HD2) and Power 106.1 (WJGL-HD2)/Jacksonville. Prior to joining CMG in Nov. 2021 Smith spent five years in San Francisco as PD of Bonneville Urban AC KBLX. Smith’s 3+ decades of programming experience also includes a stint as OM of SummitMedia’s cluster in Greenville-Spartanburg, SC and OM of Radio One Philadelphia. Earlier in his career Smith spent 15 years in Chicago as OM/PD of Clear Channel Urban WGCI, Urban AC WVAZ (V103) and OM of Gospel WGRB-AM, and back in the day, Smith was VP of Programming of Nash Communications and PD of the legendary WILD-AM/Boston.
