‘Complex’ An Easy Decision For 102 Jams

• Audacy has named Ben “Complex” Romero as Brand Manager of Classic Hip Hop KRBQ (102 Jams)/San Francisco. He will retain his existing Brand Manager duties for Sacramento sister stations 102.5 KSFM and KUDL (106.5 The End).

In making the announcement, Stacey Kauffman, Regional VP, Audacy Sacramento & San Francisco, said, “With Complex’s strategic vision and proven track record in Sacramento, we are confident in his ability to elevate this local favorite to new heights. We have no doubt he will continue to position 102 Jams as the No. 1 destination for Hip-Hop throwbacks in the Bay Area.”

Complex joined Audacy Sacramento last April, transitioning from the PD post at Desert Valley Media Group Rhythmic KKFR (Power 98.3 & 96.1)/Phoenix. Born and raised in Southern California, Complex started his professional radio career in 2001 as a mixer at KKFR. He went on to serve as MD/Mix Show Coordinator for KWIE (Wild 96.1)/Riverside, and assisted in the relaunch of 93.5 KDAY/Los Angeles. In 2008 Romero was named APD/MD of Rhythmic KWYD (Wild 101)/Boise, ID, and upped to PD two years later. He rejoined KKFR in August 2012, was upped to APD/MD the following year, and, in May 2019 was elevated to PD.

“I am deeply honored and extremely excited to be taking over such an amazing station as KRBQ,” said Romero. “After getting to know the talent, brand and market, I see nothing but great potential and a bright future for 102 Jams. Thank you to Stacey Kauffman, Dave Richards, Skip Dillard and Michael Martin for continuously believing in me.”
