Condolences: Mark Biviano

• Funeral services will be held tomorrow, May 25 to honor the life of longtime Ohio radio vet Mark “Biv” Biviano, described as a legend in Cleveland and Akron media, who most recently served as Senior Vice President of the Rubber City Radio Group, where he worked for more than 30 years until his retirement on June 30, 2022.

Biviano is also a member of the Ohio Broadcasting Hall of Fame and was the 2012 winner of the Excellence in Broadcast Management award from the Cleveland Association of Broadcasters.

RAMP reached out to Fred Jacobs of Jacobs Media, who shared this memory of his former colleague: “Biv was on the sales team at WRIF/Detroit when I joined the station in ’78. One of the good guys. Exceptional team player in every sense of the word. An old school sales guy in that he LOVED the station, always looking for ways to elevate the client experience — while doing no harm to the brand.” Jacobs added, “Biv was the guy you’d grab a beer with after work, he was on the station’s softball team, and played bass in ‘The Bruiser Band,’ the station group that formed under the J.J. & the Morning Crew umbrella. Biv was a great soul… Radio through and through.”

Biv is survived by his partner, Terri Brown, two brothers and many nieces and nephews. Services are scheduled for 11am tomorrow (preceded by visitation) at St. Christopher Church in Rocky River, OH. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Mark’s name to the Leukemia Lymphoma Society or the West Side Catholic Center.
