Content Director Needed At WDJX
• After two years as Program Director and afternoon drive personality at Alpha Media’s heritage Top 40 WDJX/Louisville, JD Garfield has tendered his resignation, effective Friday, May 31. He will be announcing his new gig soon. Garfield (pictured) stated, “I would like to thank [OM] Ben Davis and [Alpha Media EVP of Content] Phil Becker for giving me the amazing opportunity to stand at the helm of one of the premiere Top 40 stations in the country. It truly has been a rewarding experience that I’ll never forget. I’d also like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the entire staff of talented and amazing individuals at Alpha Media Louisville.”
Garfield joined WDJX in June 2017, transitioning from the PD post at Impact Radio Group Rhythmic KWYD (Wild 101.1)/Boise, ID. His previous programming stops include Mid-West Family Top 40 KOSP (92.9 The Beat) and Active Rock KQRA/Springfield, MOand six years as PD of sister WJQM (93.1 Jamz)/Madison, WI.
Garfield’s impending departure now creates a prime on-air programming opportunity in Louisville. Interested candidates must have a strong contemporary sound on-the-air and demonstrate strategic programming and digital experience and possess a full understanding of what it takes to compete and generate revenue while keeping a strong commitment of providing local compelling content both on the air and online. You will be expected to make the station look and sound great, grow audience, assist sales in hitting their targets, meet both broadcast and digital audience goals as set forth by the company — and make the hallways hum.
