Cort Reacquainted With KINK

Cort Johnson is returning to Alpha Media Triple A KINK/Portland, OR, assuming his former role as APD and afternoon personality. It was in February of this year when Johnson was tapped as National Digital Content Producer.

Ronnie Stanton, KINK’s Content Director, commented, “I’m so thrilled to work beside a talent like Cort who brings local knowledge, on air and digital skills to the table and already understands and loves the intricacies of the KINK brand.” Lisa Decker, SVP/Market Manager of Alpha Media Portland, remarked, “Cort has been a part of KINK for years. We are thrilled to expand his responsibilities. His talent, leadership, and creativity make him an excellent fit for KINK and the KINK team.” Scott Mahalick, Alpha Media’s EVP of Content, commented, “It’s always a proud moment to promote from within Alpha, and Cort is a star whose time has come to shine.”

Johnson caught the broadcasting bug at his high school radio station and later attended Brigham Young University. He went on to spend 11 years with Citadel Salt Lake City in various roles, including Promotions/Marketing Director for KENZ (101.9 The End), KBEE and KBER and later, APD/MD/morning host at KENZ. In November 2011, Johnson joined Alpha Media Portland as morning host on KINK and reporter/anchor on KXL (FM News 101). Commenting on his triumphant return, Johnson said, “I’m thrilled for this opportunity. KINK is a true Portland institution, as unique as the city itself. The opportunity to work alongside Ronnie Stanton, Lisa Decker and Scott Mahalick makes it even better.” Johnson begins his new adventure on June 18.
